Race Car Ministry (Joe Martelle, Steve Sands, Danny Mocibob)

Now working out of Brockville's Wall Street Church, Car # 7 was originally created as a Christian outreach effort from a small rural charge in eastern Ontario, the Spencerville/Roebuck United churches, by a handful of young men looking for novel and unique ways of showing that Christians are just regular folk (who in this case enjoy racing like everyone else).  In it's first season Car # 7 had a very respectable top 10 finish and was named as Brockville Ontario speedway's "Rookie of the year".

In the following seasons, our ministry welcomed the support of other local churches and as a result our team, and our outreach efforts evolved.  A team of dedicated volunteers began to show up weekly, offering free face painting for the children, colouring books, driver mail (allowing kids to send hand delivered notes to their favorite drivers), posters, etc..  Part of our growth also included bringing the car to community events such as BBQs, Shopping Malls, Schools, church functions, parades, etc.

Car # 7 has been featured in several news magazines and publications. Nationally in the United Church's "Observer", regionally in Dirt Motor Sport's "Gator News", Auto Mart, and locally several time in Brockville's own "Recorder & Times" daily newspaper.
